Wacky Hair Day!!

Last Friday Morningside School had a Wacky Hair Day! Our value for the week was community so we decided that it would be a great idea to raise some money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. We had a parade around the court in the morning. There were some awesome wacky hairstyles. Thank you to everyone who made a gold coin donation. Check out Room 2's wacky hair. 

Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg Visit Amesbury School

Yesterday Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg visited Amesbury School in Wellington. Amesbury School has large open spaces, flexible furniture like our classroom and they do something similar to Adventure Learning too. They also had a big gym that Tatty Teddy thought was pretty awesome! There are two main learning spaces. In one of the spaces all of the year 1 and 2 children learn together. In the other large space all of the year 3 to year 6 children learn together. After we spent the morning exploring Amesbury School Mr Prchal drove us to the airport. Nutmeg and Tatty Teddy had a hot chocolate and a scone for lunch. Nutmeg ate both the marshmallows! I think you might need to teach him to share better Room 2. When we arrived back at Auckland Airport I let Nutmeg and Tatty Teddy choose a donut each since they had been so good the whole trip. We had a lot of fun exploring the schools in Wellington, but are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. I have added a couple more photos to the other post too. Have a good weekend Room 2!

Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg's Wellington Adventure

Hi Room 2

I hope you had a fun day with Mrs Henry. Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg had their first ride in a plane yesterday. We drove down to Auckland and then flew from Auckland to Wellington. Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg had some cheese and crackers on the plane, then spent the rest of the flight looking out the window. As we got closer to Wellington it became very foggy so the plane had do a few circles in the air until it was safe to land. Nutmeg was a little bit scared!

This morning Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg checked out the comfortable red hotel couch while we got ready to visit out first school. Today we visited Island Bay School. Nutmeg and Tatty Teddy liked the big playground. Over 500 children go to Island Bay School. That's more than double the amount of children at Morningside School. Lots of children ride their scooters to school. Have a look at all their scooters! This afternoon we went for a drive to see the rugged Wellington Coast. We could even see the South Island and Nutmeg spotted a mountain with snow! Nutmeg and Tatty Teddy are very excited because they get to go out for dinner tonight. We will write you another post tomorrow afternoon.

Carlia's Adventure with Nutmeg

After school on Wednesday Nutmeg came home with me. First we walked home and Nutmeg met Risharne. Then he ate some fruit and some of my banana too. Then it was time to go to dance. At dance Nutmeg met Hanna and Lakeysha at dance. He was getting hot so we got some chips and lemonade. Then we went home and Nutmeg brushed his teeth and had a shower. Then he played with my lego and my Trash Packs. Nutmeg hid in my Trash. He had lots of fun. I read him a book and we snuggled into bed. When we woke up we had some breakfast. Then we got into the car to go to school.

A Sad Story

This morning when we came into the classroom one of our frogs was on the ground dead. Someone took the lid off the frog tank and he jumped out. Suga-Rae and I got some flowers to put around his grave. We buried him by the butterfly garden. We made a little card that said when he died and what his name was. We wrote all the kids' names on it that are in our class. We will miss him lots xxx 

We still have one small frog. We have decided to call him Lucky. 

Tumai's Adventure with Tatty Teddy

I put Tatty Teddy in the left pocket on my jacket before I left school. I went to the park and waited for my sister, Heaven. I went in the car and went home with Tatty Teddy. When I got home I gave him dinner. We had vegetable soup for dinner. After dinner Tatty Teddy washed his hands and brushed his teeth. Then he watched a little bit of TV and went to bed. He slept in my Mum's bed because I asked my mum if I could sleep with her in the big bed. In the morning I gave Tatty Teddy breakfast. He had cornflakes and I took a photo of him before he went back to school.
